Charitable Knitting & Crochet
Yarn Harbor is a
FLOCK drop off site.
Yarn Harbor is a FLOCK drop off site... that means that you can bring in any finished items for charitable donation socks, hats, mittens, baby items, prayer shawls, blankets for the shelter animals, etc. Julie, FLOCK’s fearless leader, will find the right local agency for your handiwork.
You may also donate full or partial skeins of yarn, fabric, needles, etc. that other crafty hands can turn into useful items. Thanks for the help! Your work is much appreciated by those in need!

You are invited to the
Knitting For Peace Day
Saturday, March 24th

(well maybe not quite that extreme!)

COLOR APPRECIATION
Sally Melville Style shares that as we age, the color cones in our eyes mature and we are able to see - and appreciate - colors we could not when young. This explains why babiles love bright, primary colors (red, blue, yellow), young children love secondary colors (purple, orange, green), and adults love using more complex colors that are often described using more than one word (sharp yellow-green, dull blue-green, dusty pink).

February: Chrissy Gardiner's Wonderful Socks! Check Chrissy out at gardineryarnworks.com.
March: Local Designer, Rita O'Connell of Earth Heart Designs, will be giving us a sample of her works - from hats to water bottle huggers. Stop in and see Rita's unique pattern designs. earthheartdesigns.com.
April: "Baby Things" from Cottage Creations. We love the Cottage Creations patterns! With Spring, we thought we would focus on the babies. Come and see the adorable sweaters and blankets from Carol Anderson (and note her special classes on April 14th!)
May: " Calling all Customers! Time to show off your stuff! During the month of May, it's time to put your sweaters away... so, bring them in so they can be displayed amongst your fellow knitters and we can enjoy and appreciate your projects. Let us know ahead of time to sign up for the show. This is always a special event.

DESIGN OF THE MONTH CLUB
We’re keeping it LOCAL! Each month in 2012 we’ll feature a pattern for a beautiful accessory (think hat, scarf, mittens, bag, etc.) designed by one of our talented folk from the Northland!
Join us and receive a 15% discount off of your materials for the month when you bring in your finished project from the previous month. It’s fun, and by the end of the year you’ll have a great collection of accessories to keep or give.
Ask for club details and knit/crochet along with us. If you are a local designer and would like us to feature your pattern, contact Kathy at Yarn Harbor.
