Local Resources for Fiber Arts

The Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild is a group of fiber artists in Duluth whose mission is to support and promote an understanding and appreciation of the fiber arts, and also to support the development of individual creative potential. They provide opportunities for learning and fellowship through monthly meetings, newsletters, study groups, classes, workshops, demonstrations, and retreats for weaving, spinning, dyeing, knitting, basketry, felting, beading, and other allied crafts. Membership is $20 per year. More information can be found on their website at www.duluthfiberhandcrafters.org.

The Northern Lights Affiliate of the MN Knitters Guild meets in Duluth on the third Wednesday of each month from 6 - 8pm at the Portman Community Center (4601 McCulloch St, Duluth). Anyone who knits is welcome. Membership is $30 a year and includes benefits such as a newsletter, a members-only section of the website, free access to the library of fiber books and patterns at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, and most importantly, other knitters to hang with. Visit their website at www.knitters.org for more information.
